About

Laura Thomas is an actor living in Astoria, New York with her elderly and precious dog, Lily. Originally from New Hampshire, Laura has been writing and performing comedy in New York, Boston, and Chicago since 2010.

Laura’s solo show, LAURA THOMAS NOT ALONE, focused on intimacy, loneliness, and overcoming emotional abuse. It showcased her strong character work and signature bold, revealing style. The show had a run at Reckless Theatre in 2017 and was listed in Time Out New York.

In 2016, Laura starred in the film BROADCAST as self-made reporter Janine Costello-White, stuck in a 1980s aesthetic. The improvised mockumentary was conceived, directed, and produced by Jenny Plante and followed Costello-White’s attempt to report on the 2016 New Hampshire Electoral Primary. The film was shot on location over four days on VHS and featured several Presidential candidates. Jenny’s film screened in NH, Boston, and NYC including a night at The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

Laura has appeared as various celebrity guests on Deep Space Live! which aired on Brooklyn Public Access. She has portrayed Barbara Walters, George Harrison, Elaine Benes and other celebrities on the fictionalized late night talk show.

She can be seen in comedy videos on Funny or Die and Refinery29 and at live shows in and around New York City. She also directs sketch, improv and character shows.

Laura is also a photographer, often combining her passions with character portraits posted on her Instagram page.
